About the "company":
A founder with senior operating and leadership experience in the EV charging sector is building a new venture and looking for a founding engineer. We are early, in stealth but moving fast.
What we're trying to do:
We're trying to make payments in the EV charging space simpler and cheaper. Combine that with an ambition to solve the driver dwell time conundrum.
That's the headline — the full picture comes in a conversation.
What really matters is that we are tackling payments. I know all about EV charging, I need someone that knows payments inside out. At it's core we will be building a payments product, and you'll own it.
The role:
Founding CTO and Head of Payments Engineering. You'll set the technical direction, choose the stack and build the first version from scratch.

Moves fast and ships — action and not analysis paralysis
Isn't scared to try something new and is energised by a blank canvas
Thrives in the unknown — comfortable making decisions with incomplete information
Treats every hard problem as a puzzle to crack and not a reason to stall
Wants real ownership — this is a founding seat, not a 9-to-5. Late nights, demos over pizza and beer, that kind of jam.
Experience that counts:
Payments is the heart of what we're building, so depth here matters — you've gone deep on hard payment problems and can do it again. For example you have:
Built or architected production payment infrastructure — issuing, processing, ledgers, settlement, reconciliation
Time at a fintech or payments company, or built the payments core of a product
Worked with card rails, BaaS, or PCI-scope systems
