Deel will serve as Contractor of Record and will contract with and pay the independent contractor. The independent contractor will provide services to Greenhouse on a non-exclusive basis, may provide services to other clients, and will be responsible for determining the manner and means of performing the services, subject to the applicable statement of work and agreed deliverables. This engagement is not an employment relationship with Greenhouse. No employment relationship, social benefits, or labor entitlements under Argentine Law 20,744 are created by this engagement. Through this arrangement, Deel is hiring an independent contractor to provide services to the Governance team. This team owns how permissions and authorization work across the Greenhouse product. This role will support the development and maintenance of the Company’s web-based applications as part of an approximately 12-month engagement. This is a collaborative, execution-focused, non-exclusive engagement. You will spend the majority of your time in the code building features, fixing bugs, and ensuring our products remain stable and performant for users. Contract & location details Contract duration: Approximately 12 months Engagement type: A non-exclusive contract role engaged through a Contractor of Record (COR) via Deel in Argentina Location: Argentina (remote) Working model: Collaboration with a distributed, US & Canada-based team with reasonable availability for coordination with Greenhouse stakeholders Who will love this job A Pragmatic Builder - You enjoy the craft of coding and take pride in writing clean, readable code. A Full-Stack Contributor - You are comfortable moving across the stack, whether updating a PostgreSQL schema or building a new UI component in React. A Quality Advocate - You believe a feature isn’t “done” until it’s tested. You regularly write unit and integration tests to catch regressions early. What you’ll do Build, modify, and maintain features using Ruby on Rails and React, following established engineering patterns Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that aligns with existing architectural standards Maintain RESTful APIs and update PostgreSQL data models to support evolving feature needs Write comprehensive unit and integration tests (e.g., RSpec, Jest) to ensure feature stability Collaborate closely with other engineers through code reviews, standups, and technical discussions Participate in a shared support rotation during working hours, diagnosing and resolving issues to maintain application health You should have 2+ years experience in contributing production code (required) Experience contributing to projects, helping drive them to completion (required) Experience with Ruby, C#, Java, or Python (Ruby preferred) Direct experience with AI and agentic software development (Claude code, Codex, etc) Proficient understanding of Javascript or Typescript fundamentals, including React Experience working in the full stack Proficient understanding of architectural patterns REST/web development experience Experience partnering closely with Product and Design partners Experience with Rails, preferred Experience with authorization and permissions, a plus Your own unique talents!
