Analytics Engineer – SQL, dbt & BigQuery Location: United Kingdom Work arrangement: Remote Employment type: Full-time Seniority: Mid-level Role Overview An Analytics Engineer is required to build and maintain data models within a modern analytics warehouse, supporting reliable reporting, experimentation and data-driven product decisions. You will work with Product, Engineering and Analytics teams to develop trusted data foundations, migrate legacy data logic and establish consistent business metrics. The role combines hands-on data modelling, data quality management and semantic-layer development. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain data models using dbt within a BigQuery analytics warehouse. Migrate legacy data logic and improve existing data infrastructure. Establish reliable data foundations for event tracking and experimentation. Define, document and maintain metrics within the analytics semantic layer. Monitor data quality and ensure consistency, accuracy and reliability across datasets. Partner with Product, Engineering and Analytics teams to support data-driven decision-making. Improve data accessibility and enable self-service analytics across the organisation. Contribute to development workflows using Git and pull requests. Use AI-powered tools to improve development efficiency and analytical workflows. Requirements Strong SQL skills and practical experience with dbt. Experience building and maintaining data models in a modern data warehouse. Familiarity with BigQuery or comparable cloud data warehouse platforms. Understanding of event tracking and experimentation, with exposure to tools such as Segment or Amplitude. Experience with Git-based development workflows and pull requests. Knowledge of data quality monitoring and analytics engineering best practices. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams. Comfortable working with ambiguity, legacy systems and data migration projects.
